Holistic medicine is an approach that considers the entire person - mind, body, and spirit - rather than focusing only on symptoms or disease. A holistic practitioner looks at how physical health, emotional wellbeing, mental clarity, and even lifestyle or spiritual beliefs interact to influence your state of health. By addressing the root causes of imbalance, holistic care not only relieves discomfort but also helps patients restore harmony, prevent illness, and live more fully aligned lives.

Acupuncture is based on traditional theories of energy (Qi) and blood flow moving through pathways called meridians. Illness and discomfort occur when this flow becomes blocked or unbalanced. By stimulating specific points along these pathways, acupuncture restores harmony, regulates circulation, and activates the body’s innate healing mechanisms. From a modern perspective, acupuncture has been shown to release endorphins, regulate the nervous system, improve blood flow, and reduce inflammation—helping the body return to its natural state of balance and health.

Acupuncture is a gentle therapy, and most patients report little to no discomfort. The needles are extremely thin—much finer than those used for injections—so insertion often feels like a light tap or a subtle tingling. Once placed, many people feel a wave of relaxation or warmth as the body’s energy begins to rebalance. Acupuncture is designed to be restorative, not painful, and many patients even fall asleep during their sessions.
- 06
The depth of insertion depends on the area being treated and the individual’s constitution. Needles are usually placed just beneath the surface of the skin, ranging from a few millimeters to about one inch deep. A skilled practitioner like Evelyn ensures every insertion is precise, comfortable, and tailored to the patient’s needs. The goal is never to puncture deeply but to gently access the energy pathways that influence healing.

Acupuncture is recognized by the World Health Organization and the National Institutes of Health for its effectiveness in treating a wide variety of conditions. It is commonly used for pain relief, stress and anxiety, migraines, insomnia, digestive concerns, allergies, women’s health, fertility, and immune system support. Many patients also use acupuncture for preventative care and overall vitality, as it strengthens the body’s natural ability to heal and adapt.

Many patients experience an immediate sense of relaxation, clarity, and lightness after treatment. Some notice pain relief or improved energy right away, while others feel gradual improvements over several sessions as the body adjusts. It is common to feel a deep sense of calm, improved sleep, and enhanced mood in the days following acupuncture. Each treatment builds upon the last, supporting long-term balance and vitality.

Herbal Medicine has been practiced for thousands of years as part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It uses customized blends of natural herbs—roots, leaves, flowers, minerals—to gently restore balance and address underlying patterns of imbalance. Unlike pharmaceuticals, herbal formulas are carefully tailored to each individual and can evolve as the patient’s condition improves. They may be prescribed to support digestion, energy, immunity, sleep, hormonal balance, or emotional wellbeing, either on their own or in conjunction with acupuncture.

Homeopathy is a gentle system of medicine that uses highly diluted natural substances to stimulate the body’s healing response. It works on the principle of “like cures like”—meaning a substance that can cause certain symptoms in a healthy person can, in minute amounts, help relieve those same symptoms in someone who is unwell. Homeopathy is often used for allergies, chronic conditions, emotional concerns, sleep disturbances, and stress-related imbalances. Because it works with the body rather than suppressing symptoms, it is safe, non-toxic, and suitable for people of all ages.

The frequency of treatments depends on your individual condition, health history, and goals. Acute concerns may benefit from 1–2 sessions per week initially, while chronic or long-standing conditions may require a longer treatment plan. Many patients move into a maintenance schedule once they achieve relief—coming monthly or seasonally to sustain balance. Evelyn will create a personalized plan to support both your immediate needs and long-term wellness.
